Brooklyn Wine Exchange : Suze Liqueur

4.7 (694) · € 19.00 · En Stock

An aperitif made from Gentian, an aromatic plant used as a bittering agent in a whole slew of French and Italian digestives. Suze has a round body and vegetal flavors, much like eating Dandelion greens, but it offers gently sweet citrus tones like those of Pomelo and Grapefruit which brings it all together for a balanced and bittersweet profile. Super versatile when used in cocktails, this can serve as a solid replacement for Campari when searching for a bitter that’s a lot less aggressive. Mix this with your favorite gin and blanc vermouth for an exceptional White Negroni.

Suze - Saveur D'Autrefois

Jeppson’s Malört is Chicago’s local beskbrännvin — a style of bitter, wormwood-based, Swedish schnapps. First developed during medieval times for its supposed medicinal benefits, it’s traditionally associated with the farms of Skåne, in Sweden, where wormwood grows wild. In the early 1900s, it was the most ubiquitous drink in Sweden and accompanied the nearly 1 million Swedes who immigrated to the U.S. during that period.
