Rene Harrop developed the CDC Para Spinner to enhance the visibility of the traditional spent-wing pattern. To mimic the flat spinner wing of falling mayflies, Harrop trims a V in the forward fibers of the grizzly hackle wrapped around the post. This parachute fly design allows for a flat profile and the biot body sells the segmentation of the natural mayfly.
