Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi is known for his works on the Academy Award-winning director Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s animated films, including Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, and My Neighbor Totoro. World Dream Orchestra is a project he launched with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and they have held a series of orchestra concerts featuring the music of Studio Ghibli’s masterpieces such as “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind,” “Laputa, the Castle in the Sky,” and “Spirited Away” since 2015. This concert is the latest addition to the series, will feature the music from one of the most popular Studio Ghibli films “Princess Mononoke”, and will be the first World Dream Orchestra concert available as a live stream.
