In The Adventures of Tintin, Prisoners of the Sun, Snowy is carried off by an Andean Condor. Tintin scrambles up a cliff in pursuit, calling out to Snowy and receiving no reply, becomes increasingly upset. Tintin comes upon the condor's nest only to find a content Snowy amongst a dog's buffet of bones. Annoyed at Snowy for not answering Tintin panicked calls, Tintin straps to his back the wayward dog to prevent further excursions.
