The Siege of Fort Carillon (1758) was a battle of the French and Indian War that occurred when the 733-strong colonial army of William Johnson laid siege to the French outpost of Fort Carillon in northern New York, facing a garrison of 1,227 troops under Zacharie Trotter. The colonial forces stormed the fort with 278 losses, conquering yet another one of France's many fortresses along the Great Lakes and conquering the Iroquois territories for Great Britain and her Thirteen Colonies.
